The smoothie is packed full of ingredients to help alleviate a mind clouded by foggy thoughts and ensure you are ready for a productive day!
Cucumber: Vitamin C – those who have vitamin C deficiency often feel very fatigued and as a result don’t have clarity of thought, leading them to lack the ability to make clear decisions due to tiredness. This would significantly decrease their Mental PowerBar energy.
Carrot: High level of antioxidants – Those with a greater level of antioxidants, such as carotenoids in their diet are less likely to suffer from degenerative diseases. Carrots are good at slowing down the onset of such illnesses, as well as protecting your brain and helping improve its function.
Ginger: Bioactive compounds – Antioxidants and bioactive compounds in ginger can inhibit and slow down inflammatory responses in the brain. Daily doses of ginger can help enhance reaction time and working memory, therefore improving your cognitive abilities.
Cinnamon: Enhances cognitive processing – Therefore, improves attention and concentration allowing for one to perform much better in study or work environment and boosting your Mental energy.
Mental Power Smoothie recipe
Prep time: 5 minutes
- 1/3 cucumber
- 1 ½ carrots
- 1-inch piece fresh peeled Ginger
- 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons milled flaxseed
- 1 (25g) scoop of protein powder of your liking
- Water to cover
Recipe instructions –
- Chop the cucumber and carrots into chunks.
- Peel and chop the ginger into a 1-inch piece.
- Add the chopped ingredients, then add cinnamon, milled flaxseed and protein powder into the blender.
- Add water to cover ensuring everything is covered.
- Blend for 1 minute until the smoothie is well blended.
- Pour into a glass and enjoy your Mental Power Smoothie!
- Some may prefer to peel the carrots – but this is optional
- Add your daily supplements or powders to give the smoothie that extra boost!
